PAPrx is brought to migrant health care offices in cooperation with the Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN). The Migrant Clinicians Network is a network of over 1,700 clinicians across the country and in Puerto Rico who serve migrant and seasonal farm workers.  A portion of all sales to MCN members is donated to Healthy Ventures.

Prescriptions and paperwork seem to go hand in hand.  Especially for low-income patients who can't always afford all those expensive medications doctors prescribe.
But two women in Texoma are making it their mission to help those in need.
Kten's Stacey turner joins us now live in the digital newsroom with more on this small company that's not afraid to tackle the paperwork. Stacey
If you've ever tried to fill out medical paperwork you know it can be confusing and if you get anything wrong it comes right back. Frustrating right. Well there's a company right here in Denison making sure all the i's get dotted and the t's crossed.

Visit the doctor and the paperwork starts to pile up. Add to that the high cost of prescription drugs and some just decide to take their chances with illness.
They're choosing to pay their food and rent or buy their meals and most of them leave the medication off and the doctors get upset because they don't take their medication.
That's where Kathy Smallwood and her daughter Deanna step in to help.
“Hi this is Kathy Smallwood with the patient assistant company what can I do for you hon?”
Smallwood and her daughter started the business two years ago. Filling out the thousands of forms that can offer costly prescriptions at a discount rate for those who qualify.

Every drug company has a different form. Every drug company has a different set of rules, regulations, what they require there is a charge for each form filled out.  But judging by the response.  Clients feel its worth it

, cards, flowers, you know. When they break down on the phone and cry because they tell us you’re my angel and you've saved our lives and you know we're not but we're helping and every little bit helps.
They already over sever hundred physicians and they say more are calling everyday.  They say their resources are stretched to the limits but they'll continue to help as many people as they can.
