PAPrx is brought to migrant health care offices in cooperation with the Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN). The Migrant Clinicians Network is a network of
over 1,700 clinicians across the country and in Puerto Rico who serve migrant and seasonal
farm workers. A portion of all sales to MCN members is donated to Healthy Ventures.

older patients complete PAP forms. From this model used by
these women, the PAPrx software was developed to help clinics that
serve indigent populations bring this service to their clients.) |

PAP office is highlighted on
KTen evening news. |
Prescriptions and paperwork
seem to go hand in hand. Especially
for low-income patients who can't always afford all those expensive
medications doctors prescribe.
But two women in Texoma are making it their mission to help those in
need.
Kten's Stacey turner joins us now live in the digital newsroom with
more on this small company that's not afraid to tackle the paperwork.
Stacey
If you've ever tried to fill out medical paperwork you know it can be
confusing and if you get anything wrong it comes right back.
Frustrating right. Well there's a company right here in Denison making
sure all the i's get dotted and the t's crossed.
23:42 Papers Piling
Visit the doctor and the paperwork starts to pile up. Add to that the
high cost of prescription drugs and some just decide to take their
chances with illness.
They're choosing to pay their food and rent or buy their meals and
most of them leave the medication off and the doctors get upset
because they don't take their medication.
That's where Kathy Smallwood and her daughter Deanna step in to
help.
“Hi this is Kathy Smallwood with the patient assistant company what
can I do for you hon?”
Smallwood and her daughter started the business two years ago. Filling
out the thousands of forms that can offer costly prescriptions at a
discount rate for those who qualify.

Every drug company has a different form. Every drug company has a
different set of rules, regulations, what they require there is a
charge for each form filled out.
But judging by the response.
Clients feel its worth it

, cards, flowers, you know. When they break down on the phone and cry
because they tell us you’re my angel and you've saved our lives and
you know we're not but we're helping and every little bit helps.
They already over sever hundred physicians and they say more are
calling everyday. They
say their resources are stretched to the limits but they'll continue
to help as many people as they can.
If you'd like to get more information about the program or how you can
help. Tony
